Sneak Peek-Coptic Doll

A sneak peek at what I've been working on. Roman era rag doll (Egypt, 4th C. CE), dressed in 4th C. Coptic dress.


Linen doll, linen tunic, pearl cotton and alpaca yarn embroidery, unknown man-made hair.


Hair net is a piece of cheese cloth left over from some indigo dyeing. The circle I had to cut out was surprisingly large at 15cm.


Here's the two dolls together. Doll #2 is going to get 14th C. dress. There will be a photo tutorial in due course.
